crying in the snow

Mom and Dad thought it would be fun to drive to the mountains to play in some snow. They were wrong. Too many clothes. I hate mittens. It was cold. I couldn't move. Going down the hill was kind of fun.

Playing at the playground

Sometimes it's sunny here, even in December. Yesterday, we went to the playground.

I climbed up the play structure and went down the slide - one time all by myself. I went feet first on my tummy for that one.

I saw lots of dogs and got to pet a puppy. There were lots of nice people there, too.

Dining on Dim Sum

Our friend Clark came to visit so we went out to eat Dim Sum. The chopsticks were pretty neat, but they didn't have applesauce or crackers.

Dancing like crazy

Dad and I LOVE to dance to Numa Numa. It's such a great song. But we might have to find something that's not as fun because I usually cry when the song it over.

Breaking Out

Hives. Sometimes the cure is worse than what you're curing. I was taking amoxicillin for an "ear infection" and look what happened to me. I had to take a different medicine 4 times a day to get rid of these things, and it tasted horrible. I spit out as much as I could.

It really wasn't any fun at all.

goofing around

Here's me and my cat, Awilo, hanging out on the couch. He's such a fun cat. He likes to play and get nice pats from me - and kisses.

This is me in my Bumbo chair. We just got it back from a friend of mine and look - it still fits!

Watching the snow fall

It snowed here and I got to go outside to watch it. It was kind of weird stuff. I couldn't look up, but it was pretty fun.

Here's dad and me checking out the snow flakes.

catching up

Sorry for waiting so long since my last entry. You know how the holiday season is . . .

So, since my last entry, I had a couple more visits from grandparents.
My Gramma from Montana was here for a while to take care of me and stay home when I had a fever and then when I had pink eye and an ear infection. We played a lot at home and at the playground (when I wasn't contagious.) Here's a shot of us working with my credit card sorter - possibly the best toy ever.

Before that my Grammy and Grandpa from Nevada visited us for Thanksgiving.
I slept through dinner, but I was awake for our trip to the zoo and for dancing around.

Visit from Grandma

My Grandma came to visit me a few days ago. We had a lot of fun hanging out together. We went to a party one day and we went to the aquarium and sculpture park on another day.

Dad tried to make me touch some starfish in the touch tank, but my favorite things were climbing on this neat bench and walking up the stairs (again and again).

climbing the windows

Up is where I want to be. I just love climbing. Stairs, furniture, walls - up up up! Don't worry - I'm leaning on my toychest - not balancing here.

Running around the playground

Now that I'm walking, I get to spend time on the playground each day at school and sometimes Mom and Dad take me to playgrounds in the parks nearby.

We went to one on Saturday and had a great time. I had lots of fun on the swing, climbed up the big toy

and went up and down a really big slide. Click here to watch how it's done.

Walking!

Well, actually, I took my first steps about 4 weeks ago, but I wanted to wait to tell all you guys until I had something good to show you. Now I can walk all around the house - without holding onto anything. I can even turn, stop, squat down, get back up and keep going. That's advanced stuff. Click here to check out some of my fancy foot work!

Turning 1!

A couple of days ago, I had my first birthday. A number of exciting things happened that day.

First of all, there were streamers hung in the living room. Also, I started getting "hot-lunch" at school.
When Mom and Dad picked me up from school, my car seat was turned around and there were balloons in the car!!

And best of all, when we got home - we had a party! Mom and Dad were there and some grown-ups that I kind of recognized and my friends Jonah and Nicky came, too.

Here's Jonah and me playing with the ball popper. Here's Nicky - a real party animal. I heard that at the last birthday party he went to, he sat in the cake.

Speaking of cake, here's a tutorial for anyone else out there that might be turning one soon.

First, you take off any hats people try to get you to wear.

Next, they bring you your cake with a candle in it - try to grab it if you can.
Then, everyone sings and looks at you.

Make a wish and blow out the candle.

Now, you get to eat!

Or just smash it up - whatever you want.

Don't let anyone make you eat more than you want.

Most importantly - have a fun time at your party!

Taking my cat for a walk

I love my cat. He's so fun. Because I like him so much, I took him for a little walk around the living room last weekend.

Look! I fit in the bottom, too!

Playing with Fire

Matches - actually. I found these in a drawer.

I don't know what they are, but I'm sure I want them because Mom wouldn't let me keep them for very long.

Come on, Mom - could I start a fire with drool like this?!

Getting Big

As I'm sure you all know, I'll be turning 1 year old in less than three weeks and yeah, I'm getting pretty big. I can do lots of neat things now, like wave and clap and point.

I can even stand up without holding on to stuff and grab the remote controls and other toys from the tables and desks.

I can climb on top of my little table - or I can play nicely when I want to.

I can even go down the slide at school, all by myself.

Riding on a carousel

Last weekend I went to the zoo with my friend Addison and our parents. We had a lot of fun and both powered through without naps. We're pretty tough. To see a picture of all of us in front of the the elk exhibit and some more pictures of my friend, Addison, click here - it's a link to Addy's blog. At the end of the day, we got to take a ride on the carousel at the zoo. I really liked riding on the carousel and I was a little upset when my mom pulled me off the horse at the end.
