Lookin' Cute again

Robert's post:

I can't help it. It's just what I do.

Driving my parents nuts

Stanley's post:

I can't help it. It's just what I do.

They want to take a picture - a "nice" picture. I try to smile. Smile less. They still don't like it. What? What am I doing? How can I be making "crazy eyes" when I don't know what they are?

I try to smile again and it's not good.
So I don't smile - still not good.
I can't win around here.
And sometimes it's not even ME who causes trouble, but that silly baby. See - just goofing around. Not even smiling.

Getting ready for cookies

Franklin's post:
First comes the drool,
then comes the TEETH. Can you see it? Look really closely.I have two now, right next to each other on the bottom, though there's only one in this picture. Mom says I can have cookies when I get a couple more, but I'm pretty sure I heard the doctor say I was supposed to eat rice cereal first.

Sitting in my bumbo chair

Franklin's post:
See. Here I am. It's kind of fun, though it can be tiring, too.

Enjoying the last days of warmth

Fall days can be pretty nice around here. So, back before the ice and snow started, I tried to get outside while I still could.
One nice day I met my buddies at a park and we threw rocks into the water for about 3 hours or so. It was so fun. And we took a couple breaks to blow bubbles and eat go-gurts, too.
Another day I went to see some stuff that my parents thought would be neat.
We visited the site where Lewis and Clark spent their last nights before returning to their starting place. It's a park now, with a juvenile detention center. It was pretty quiet around there.
Then, we went to "the confluence". See behind me? That's the Mississippi River on my right and the Missouri River on my left - or was it the other way around?

Gettin' Artsy

Stanley's post:
Any other 3 or 4 year olds out there feel like they're always being pressured to "draw" or "paint" a picture? Well, I've been giving it my best shot at school and at home, too.
This is me doing a little painting. I like to paint because you're allowed to use both hands.

Drawing is a little tougher because you kind of need to use just one hand at a time because the other hand has to put the crayon into your drawing hand and then hold the paper. It's a big job. Here are two drawings that I made of dinosaur eggs.
I was feeling pretty good, so I went on to draw this one a little later. It's a person and then there's a cross-out to say "don't hit in the head or step on the foot" - you know, of the person.
I've even been setting up some still life arrangements as well. Oh, you can't see the helium balloon - that was part of it. This one got dismantled before I'd really finished it. I had to go to school and I needed my shoe so . . .

Trick 'R Treatin'

Stanley's Post:

This year for Halloween, I was . . . .

SUPER DRAGON!

It was such an awesome costume - probably better than anyone else's, but my mom says I'm not supposed to say that - that it might make my friends feel sad if I say my costume is better, so let's just say it certainly wasn't any worse than ANYONE else's costume. And I'm sure I didn't get any LESS candy than anyone else, either.

I went trick 'r treating with some of my best buddies, and some new friends, too.

See the princess? That's a girl. You know she's a girl because she's dressed up like a princess. She was nice, so I let her hold my hand. And she helped me to not fall down on the way up to the doors. Who can see stairs when you're looking for the person with the candy?

My mom helped me and Robert Franklin to carve our pumpkins. I showed her what face I wanted and she cut in onto the pumpkin. Mine's the one on the lowest step.
And here's Robert showing the face that he wanted.

Fighting Bad Guys

Stanley's post:
Look out, Peter Parker! I'm going to take BOTH of your jobs!

Wearing an antique

Stanley's post:
Check out who is styling in their vintage fall sweater. This sweater is clearly older than me. It's even older than my mom. This sweater was my Unlce Kevin's - it says so on the tag.
I wore it to school and my teachers loved it. I'm sure my friends thought it was cool, too.

Lookin' Cute

R.F.'s post

Mom and Dad are always pulling the camera out - I don't even have to do ANYthing. They take my picture sitting in my car seat,
resting in my pak 'n play,
or just sitting in my chair. I don't know what the big deal is.

Turning 4

Well, turning 4 doesn't happen every day, so this year we spread the celebration out over a 5-day 'long weekend' of chocolate cake with my Gramma Cookie.
The events started with me bringing cupcakes (chocolate, of course) to preschool. On day 2, I had my big party (see separate blog entry) with pentuple chocolate birthday cake and also got to take a night-time trip to Grant's Farm. It was so SPOOKY. I wore my dino costume that is getting just a little small, and some glow-in-the-dark necklaces. I looked so cool. Some people thought I was a REAL dinosaur.
On day 3, we went to a different kind of farm where I turned down the opportunities to pet dogs, cats, pigs, sheep, and chickens and to milk a cow. I did, however, pet the bunny. He was so soft. Then I got to go and PICK OUT a toy from the toy store with my Grandma. How do you chose when you want everything? I let my mom help.
And then we had just a little party that night. But it was definitely a party, just look at our hats.

On day 4, we went apple picking and pumpkin selecting and then capped off our day with dessert at a restaurant where I got some . . . chocolate cake.
And on the last day, we took a trip to a park and then I got some chocolate lava cake (for almost lunch) and then also ate half of my mom's chocolate croissant, and the last couple bites as well. It was almost as good as the lava cake. Then, Gramma Cookie went home and we haven't had any more chocolate cake.

Having a party!

Stanley's post:
Well, as most of you must know by now, I turned 4 years old this past weekend. On Saturday, which was not my real birthday, I had an awesome party with some of my best buddies. The theme of my party was "dinosaurs". When mom explained to me what that meant, I wondered why the theme was not "super heros", but it was still a cool party.
We played a super-fun game called Dinosaur Rescue Hunt. A giant red meat-eater dinosaur sent us on 6 missions to rescue dinosaurs that had been buried in sand, trapped in rock, lost in the dark, frozen, or stuck in the water. AND we got to keep all the dinos that we rescued. It was sooo fun. I want to play it everyday.
And, we ate dinosaur chicken nuggets and pentuple chocolate CAKE. That's triple chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and little chocolate dinosaurs all over it.
AND, I got some awesome presents, too. Birthdays are sooooo great.
