Looking grown up

Dashing, you say?

Or perhaps handsome?

Maybe debonair is the word you're looking for?

And I got a lollypop, too! "Stick-ie!" (in reference to the stick, not the actual stickiness) MmmmmMM! I'll get a haircut any day if it means I get a sucker.

For comparison, here's a before picture of me, demonstrating good milk-drinking posture.

Dad Day II

Check out the cool shirts that my mom helped me make for Father's Day! She found the picture, but the caption is all mine. "Bus! Nice. Snuggle." I say it all the time.

We also baked dad a cake, just like what Curious George feeds to the fish! Mmmm. And there's a picture of cake in another book I like to read. I like cake. "Cake!"

Europe, Europe, too much Europe!

Well, my trip report seems to be dragging on a bit longer than I'd like and I have SO many things to tell you about what I've been up to lately. So here's the rest of my trip, in a nutshell

Dubrovnik: windy, not enough ice cream, though mom and dad seemed to think it was pretty neat. And a fun side trip to an island!

Brella, Croatia: A beach! Fun!

ROME: The Colosseo

Trevi Fountain - couldn't get close enough to toss in a coin

The Pantheon:
HARDCORE sightseeing by a now-seasoned sight-seer (that's me napping in the stroller by the colosseum.)
Vatican City: We went on a Sunday. And the Pope was there! I saw the Pope! I heard him speak (in Italian). We went to Rome and saw the Pope! What a European vacation.

Fun and funky apartment with a delux baby bath sink.

That concludes my trip to Europe - next adventure - Midwest America

TWO Maamas

My advice to other toddlers who might be considering a trip to Europe or Florida or anywhere is that you should take AT LEAST two Maamas. In my earlier posts you've seen how necessary they are on long drives and at ice cream time. They are also handy to have along on walks,

at the playground and, importantly, they are more likely than parents to buy and share candy with you, especially if you do a candy dance. Sorry, not captured on camera.

International dining

While in Europe I had the opportunity to taste all kinds of new and exciting foods. For example, look at all the different types of milk they have! And they call it all kinds of funny things.

I even found some in single serving sizes. What a fun place to be a baby!

I also got to take a trip to this place that I think I might have seen signs for here in the US. I tried the French fries, even though we were in Italy. The best thing about french fries is dipping them in ketchup. Mmmm.

And of course, I've already dedicated a whole entry to the ice cream, but here's me checking out a few things on the menu and in the case.

Wearing my BackPack!

While we were in Croatia we went for a really long hike and when you do something like that, you need to bring some stuff with you. So, you wear a back pack. Look at me in my backpack! I love my backpack. It looks like a doggy and is soft so I can give it a snuggle and a pat and say "whoo whoo whoo! Backpack!" I wore it for the whole hike. Really, it's such a nice backpack that I like to wear it when I go out places, even now! Here's a shot of me with my pal Oskey. We wanted to go in the other direction.

We saw a lot of water. I was getting a little tired by the time we were heading back but what I figured out is if you can get one large-size person to hold a hand on each side of you then you can kind of hang and let your feet get carried without having to do quite as much work. Here's everybody, but the puppy is hiding!
I think that was the longest walk I've ever taken in my entire life. I was SO tired when we got back that I had to lie down and rest in my tent.

Sightseeing - Croatia

Our first stop in Croatia was at a Bavarian town for cream cakes. When we'd had our fill, we headed out towards Plitvice National Park. On the way there we stopped to get some cheese from a cheese farm. We found a place to stay and there was a puppy! His name was Oskey and I'll get some pictures of him up in my next entry. I think he was there with some people that know my mom and dad. No no no! That's what you tell Oskey.

We were staying in the country and there was a goat. Maaaa.
